Shell climate crimes exposed in new report

Brussels, 29 June - Fresh evidence of oil giant Shell’s colossal contribution to global climate change and its continued investment in carbon intensive fossil fuels has been revealed today in a new report. The report also reveals new internal documents that show Shell knew of the environmental dangers of gas flaring in Nigeria more than fifteen years ago, but chose not to stop flaring purely for financial reasons.  Read more...

Scotland's climate bill sets a precedent for Europe

Brussels, 24 June– Friends of the Earth Europe has warmly welcomed the groundbreaking Climate Change Bill passed in Scotland today.

Members of the Scottish Parliament (MSPs) today voted for a target to reduce greenhouse gases by 42 per cent by 2020 – the most ambitious statutory target in the world. Read more...
