Friends of the Earth Europe and Friends of the Earth Germany urged the Environment Committee to vote for toxics free future.
100 gnomes carrying toxic symbols gathered by the European institutions.

(Brussels - 04 October) Today, Friends of the Earth Europe and Friends of the Earth Germany demanded from the members of the European Parliament to resist the pressure of chemical industry and vote for a strong European Chemicals Legislation (REACH). The leading committee on REACH - the Committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety -  is today delivering an opinion that will have bearing on the November plenary vote in the European Parliament.

Environmentalists fear that the ENVI committee will give in to the influence of dirty chemicals industry and significantly weaken REACH, failing to address its fundamental principle - improved protection of environment and human health, whilst maintaining EU competitiveness.

Declaring "No to toxic chemicals: vote health and environment back into REACH", Friends of the Earth Germany and Friends of the Earth Europe, accompanied by hundred of gnomes carrying toxic symbols,  pressurised MEP's to deliver toxics free future.
